Our Approach
Using trauma-informed and attachment-focused practice and advance knowledge of child development and family and social systems, the overarching goal is to maintain family preservation (preventing children’s entry into Out-Of-Home Care) and family reunification (returning children safely home from Out-Of-Home Care).
We are committed to providing:
Family Goal Support
Intensive in-home support to assist families to work towards Case Plan goals set by Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety.
Daily Living & Practical Assistance
Practical support to address specific needs of the family, such as transport to appointments, establishing daily routines, and household organisation.
Therapeutic & Emotional Wellbeing
Integrative and responsive therapeutic services such as casework, counselling, emotional support and development of social support networks.
Parenting & Life Skills Development
Personal support and development including information and advice, parenting skills courses, and budgeting.
Community Connections & Advocacy
Links to other family supports via referral and advocacy – housing, childcare, emergency relief, rental assistance.
Referrals
Referral Pathways Through Child Safety Services
All referrals are received via the Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety. Referrals must be received from Child Safety Service Centres in the Moreton Bay Region including – Caboolture, Morayfield, Redcliffe and Strathpine CSSCs.
All programs are an activity of Frederick Marsden Youth Centre in partnership with the Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety.
