Emotional Wellbeing & Relationship Building
Therapeutic support to reduce emotional distress, improve relationships (with carers, peers and family), learn new skills in coping with challenges, improve problem-solving skills and enhance overall wellbeing.
Therapeutic Behaviour Management for Caregivers
Holistic counselling support in collaboration with the child’s caregiver and other members of the child’s support network.
Therapeutic Behaviour Management for Caregivers
Psychoeducation and practical support to caregivers on therapeutic behaviour management, simple techniques and new communication methods that enhance the child’s general emotional wellbeing and the child’s relationship with the caregiver.
Confidential Counselling & Safe Spaces
Confidential counselling in a safe space, either at Marsden Families Program Therapy Rooms or outreach within schools or community.

What to expect when your child is referred to Marsden Families Program...
Intake Meeting
Your child's Therapist will contact you, the caregiver, to set up a meeting time to discuss how we can best support your child and family.
Weekly Sessions
Our therapist will meet with the child (and caregiver if appropriate) once a week either at Marsden Families Program or at school where possible.
Additional Supports
Caregiver support, meetings with stakeholders, referrals, and recommendations is also provided.
Feedback and Resources
Resources to assist in implementing therapeutic strategies in the home or school setting will be provided. Reports and feedback will also assist in expanding the therapeutic progress beyond the therapy space.
Referrals
Referral Pathways Through Child Safety Services
All referrals are received via the Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety. Referrals must be received from Child Safety Service Centres in the Moreton Bay Region including – Caboolture, Morayfield, Redcliffe and Strathpine CSSCs.
All programs are an activity of Frederick Marsden Youth Centre in partnership with the Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety.
